In one of the more entertaining girls basketball contests of the season, Dublin Coffman (10-1) defeated visiting Westerville South (7-3), 82-80 in Overtime.
The Shamrocks led by double digits for the majority of 3 and a half quarters. The Wildcats however, went on tear, trailing by 12 with 4 minutes remaining in regulation. Led by Anyssa Jones (28), South made 5 three pointers in the final four minutes and OT.
Jacy Sheldon missed an off balance 24 footer at the buzzer to win it in regulation. Westerville South took their first lead of the contest with 3:25 to play in overtime at 75-73.
Tied at 80 with :06 left and the Wildcats with possession, Caitlin Duffy drove left to the rim, missing a potential game winning runner. Lilly Edwards grabbed the rebound and fired a bullet to Sheldon at half court. With Jones running side by side, Jacy was able to convert the layup, as time expired.
Dana Axner again shined for Coffman with 22. Sheldon paced the Shamrocks with 24. Lilly Edwards had 17 and the biggest assist of the contest. Riley Wagoner also had 17, scoring the majority of her points in the 4th quarter and OT.
WSHS was led by Jones 6 triples and 28 points. Caitlin Duffy added 18 and Somer Pitzer 12.
The Rocks open back leave play on Friday versus Central Crossing.
